HAKADAL :: FINDING LIGHT – Zine published 2024

This photographic series was created in the mountains of Hakadal, a Norwegian village to the north of Oslo, in the aftermath of a fifty-year storm. Washed-out tracks exposed long-buried lumps of iron ore from the mountains’ mining past to the surface.

By photographing spontaneously while moving through this forested landscape, it was the stratified light shining through the trees that had been captured. Layers of light transform to wind and water, sweeping over the terrain, eroding and lightening past psychological burdens, connecting the inner landscape with topographical form, and providing understanding of the subconscious self.
